CIVA Training

Under the current circumstances, and considering how difficult travel has become due to the pandemic situation, the EXTENDE team has decided to adapt its offerings and to open up online full dedicated training sessions for CIVA software.

Thus, for a training session usually under the course of 4 days of attendance, EXTENDE proposes a format made of 2 successive online sessions of 2 days each (6 hours per day):

A first session including:

  • The presentations of the field calculation and inspection simulation modules
  • Some demo performed by the trainer
  • A few practical applications to be realized by the trainees

After the second day, exercises regarding the content of the first two days will be made available to the trainees. Trainees will have to prepare these exercises between the two sessions.

A second session, taking place a few days after the first one. It will first focus on correcting the exercises and some Q&A. It will then include:

  • The presentation of phased-array probes options
  • PA probe application cases and exercises
  • Advanced options and 3DCAD components
  • Additional presentation elements (POD, metamodels)
  • Questions and conclusion

These training sessions are available for 1 to 4 trainees from your company.

We will be flexible and can adapt this schedule depending on your availability.

It will be required to have CIVA installed on the computer of each participant beforehand. We will provide the license file to activate CIVA and the training documentation.

Do not hesitate to contact us for more information.

TraiNDE UT shadowing effect

The “shadowing effect” is extensively used in the interpretation of results – detection, sizing and characterization. It can either be a trick that helps to confirm the diagnosis, or a trap when it is the only information available to perform the diagnosis.

TraiNDE UT can help trainees understand and remember this phenemenon with on of the several steel sheet inspection cases using a normal beam. The teacher has only to start one example and show students how delamination with and without tilt can affect the backwall echo.
